It’s Mike with AffiliatePayDay again. Here are parts eight, nine and ten of the Affiliate Marketing For Beginners 10 Keys To Success course.

Build a Network

Become friends with other affiliate marketers.
Share information about the best deals, the most effective affiliate marketing strategies, and perhaps, even some lists of potential buyers.  Remember, the world is all about a network of contacts.  Each person you know could eventually help you out at some point.  The internet is really no different when it comes to building a network of contacts.

Multiple Affiliate Programs

Do not limit yourself to one affiliate program.  Join as many as you can without losing the focus of what you want to sell. Greater variety is good, as long as your products are niche related.  The more niche products you offer, the greater the chances that one will be bought.  Joining affiliate programs is free, so you might as well make the most out of it.

Be patient and Don’t Quit

Don’t expect great results overnight.
It takes time to build traffic to your site, to build your email list, and to build relationships.  If you quit, you certainly won’t be successful.  But if you are patient and stick with it, affiliate marketing can be very profitable and very rewarding.

This is the last part of the “Affiliate Marketing - The 10 Keys To Success” affiliate marketing for beginners course.  If you would like more detail
on these 10 tips, plus a lot more information, I encourage you to pick up AffiliatePayDay - the Affiliate Marketing for Beginners Guide.

Agreed about joining multiple networks. It’s also a good idea to split test offers you’re promoting between a few different networks, often times the results can be very different from one network to another.

Commission Junction has started taking $10 a month from my account because I haven’t sold anything in 6 months, the hosers. is it OK to buy from your own affilaite link to stop that?

  3. admin on November 3rd, 2008 7:32 am

    Peter,
I have never had much success with Commission Junction for some reason. I know there are people who make full time livings off of CJ alone, but I have never mastered marketing CJ products.

What I really didn’t like about CJ, is if you didn’t make a sale in 6 months, they would cancel your account without warning. So if you still had live links out there going to CJ, and if someone purchased from your link, you would not get credit for the sale.

To me, this was unethical and dishonest, so I quit using CJ. So now, instead of just disabling your account, they charge you?

Just doesn’t seem right to me.

I have to agree that you wont be able to see the results overnight. It takes time and probably effort to see the result of your hardwork.

Sky is the limit when we talk about Internet. So get those fingers working and join as many affiliate programs as you can.

I am on the other end of it. I am looking to have affiliates shop my product. It retails for about $30 and wonder what incentive I should give. Also, is there a good program that would be good for me to use? There are so many but are some better than others?

First off, these are some tips. And I agree that it takes alot of networking, and alot of patience. And also, if you invest your time wisely, and are making the right connections the time will come when you will see it all pay off. The longer you go, the easier it’s going to get. At least thats how I see it.

Multiple networks can indeed do wonders. Things won’t happen overnight so a lot of patience is needed and a positive attitude.

There are a lot of people that claim you can start making money right away with affiliate marketing - and you can.

But, for most people it will take time to start earning money, and many will give up before they make a dime. It takes persistence and patience.

So, don’t ever quit, do a little each day and eventually you will find success.

    11. Don’t Sell Your Soul.

A lot of affiliate products are crap. You wouldn’t buy them yourself. Don’t sell your soul by hyping other people into buying them.

The popularity of affiliate marketing is growing day by day. Never before has the work at home opportunity been so talked and raved about. People are now using the internet to earn additional income and others are using the web as their main source of income. Affiliate marketing can be simply explained as promoting somebody else’s business in your own website in exchange for a certain percentage of the generated sale. In effect, you are a partner of the business entrepreneur and your sole responsibility is to promote his products online.

Most affiliate programs offer a very large charge and charge, of course, is very interest of the beginner, but the products offered is not very interesting so no purchase is made and the commission payment to the originator even if the commission amount offered is quite large.

I’m very careful about what affiliate products I promote. I usually run a test over a few weeks, usually through article marketing to determine first, if their is a market and secondly, if there is a high refund rate. I do this before I spend too much time on SEO, marketing and site development.

I believe that another key tip for affiliate marketers is to do something unique. If you are just doing the exact same thing as all the other affiliates out there, you will have a really hard time competing, and making a good profit.

  39. Cam from Cyberactive Marketing on April 1st, 2009 10:52 am

Those are three simple, yet very crucial things in affiliate marketing. Without a network, you cannot drive traffic to your product from multiple sources. Without options, you may not get the most amount of results. And without patience, you may quit before you are about to hit success.

  44. Lee from Get Back With Your Ex on May 11th, 2009 4:30 pm

Great post! One thing I would say, though, about choosing multiple niche markets - yes, it’s good to have several income streams going, but if I were just starting out (read: I had it to do over again), I’d limit myself to maybe 4 or 5 products at first.

When I started in affiliate marketing, I tried to sell every product undre the sun… I ended up diluting my efforts, and didn’t get anywhere until I scaled down. It’s pretty easy for a newbie to get overwhelmed.

When I feel that I can’t do something, I’m remembering this:

    Abraham Lincoln…

Failed in business at age 21.
Was defeated in a legislative race at age 22.
Failed again in business at age 24.
Overcame the death of his sweetheart at age 26.
Had a nervous breakdown at age 27.
Lost a congressional race at age 34.
Lost a congressional race at age 36.
Lost a senatorial race at age 45.
Failed in an effort to become vice-president at age 47.
Lost a senatorial race at age 47.
Was elected PRESIDENT of the US at age 52!

Now that’s it the spirit we all have to develop if we want to become successful.

Wealthy Affiliate is the place to learn affiliate marketing from scratch.

The tutorials and tips are grate on this site, but like most of you realize, it takes time to become a pro
    And earn full time.

My advice would be build has many mini review sites as you can.
Build 30 in different niches, you only need each to make $30 a week = $900 a week.

One of the most important things to learn is pre-sell and SEO, You can just learn how to pre-sell and use PPC but I don’t like giving my hard earned money to Google or his friends.

It’s a good life, learn it and earn it and never look back.
P.S Don’t expect every mini site you build to earn money 10% never do, just leave it and move on.
